Bran+Luebbe Support
BUCHI supports Bran + Luebbe NIR Users
The NIR spectrometers delivered by BUCHI support almost the identical customer base in Food & Feed and pharmaceutical industries as the systems formerly supplied by Bran + Luebbe.
The value of NIR systems is not so much in the hard- and software but in the amount of data collected over the time. It is possible to transfer the spectra collected with InfraAlyzer dispersive spectrometers and with the InfraProver systems together with the associated property values into the NIRCal Chemometric Software in an easy and straightforward manner: Both formats - ICAP or Sesame can be imported equally simple. Calibrations predominantly based on these data can be used for routine applications with the BUCHI NIRLab N-200 and NIRFlex N-400 FT-NIR spectrometers respectively.
There are two strategies for maintaining the vast amount of data for the Food & Feed segment:
- Although the Bran + Luebbe InfraAlyzer 500 and the BUCHI NIRLab N-200 use different technologies - dispersive grating versus FT-NIR spectrometer - it is possible to use the InfraAlyzer spectra as a basis for a NIRCal calibration, which has to be broadened with NIRLab N-200 spectra.
- In addition, there is a good chance that BUCHI offers a pre-calibration for your application, which can be expanded with the InfraAlyzer spectra.
Both approaches will yield robust calibrations, which can be used for routine operation with the BUCHI NIRLab N-200 FT-NIR spectrometer.
Pharmaceutical industries are using the Bran + Luebbe InfraProver as well as the BUCHI NIRFlex N-400 FT-NIR spectrometers. Both instruments exhibit the identical optical layout and are based on the original development by TECAN in cooperation with the Ciba company utilizing a polarization interferometer. The NIRFlex N-400 is the only FT-NIR spectrometer which is fully compatible to InfraProver data. Therefore InfraProver data can be used for routine applications without a serious loss of precision or accuracy for the analyses with NIRFlex N-400, a fully 21 CFR Part 11 compliant system.
